music stage at Heaton Park

Heaton Park music concert

Heaton Park has big plans for the 8th and 9th of June 2013.

It’s hosting the Parklife music festival.

This festival has been held at Platt fields for the last 3 years, but appears unlikely to become a regular feature at Heaton park.

The festival is aimed squarely at “young people” and in particular it’s targeted at the UK student population.

The line-up for Saturday 8th June on the main stage is:

  • Plan B
  • The Maccabbees
  • Jessie Ware
  • Delphic
  • Crazy P
  • Quadron
  • Trojan Sound System
  • Will Tramp

And Special Guests: The Temper Trap

Then on Sunday 9th June on the  main stage they have:

  • Example
  • Rita Ora
  • Rudimental (Live)
  • Wretch 32
  • Iggy Azalea
  • Riot Jazz (Live)
  • Juicy DJS
  • Johnny Dub

And special guests: Jurassic 5

Plus lots of other bands on a variety of stages

All, in all should be an interesting experience.

However, this appears to be the only concert on this year. And residents around Heaton Park were a little concerned that the council were trying to make more use fo the park as a concert venue. Maybe that will be next hear?
