Clayton Hall nominated for Community Project of the Year

Be Proud 2013

Clayton Hall was nominated for Community Project of the Year in the 2013 Be Proud awards.

So we all trooped down to Manchester town hall, through the Christmas market into the Mayor’s parlour for a champagne cocktail.

We then moved into the enormous Great Hall where we were wined and dined like kings. And of course after the food came the speeches and awards.

In the end we came out as runner’s up and we did have a nice time at the awards ceremony and got to meet some interesting people.

We also got to hear about other amazing schemes and people, all run on a voluntary basis. Where do these people get the time!?

The Clayton Hall team are currently going through the process of becoming a charity to ensure that Clayton Hall can attract the funding it needs to take over support from the council.

We are currently providing a series of packages as part of the Victorian experience to allow teachers to use us an out of classroom resource. So that means we also need to get more volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks when schools visit.

We’re also looking for more schools to take advantage of the Victorian atmosphere at the hall. So if you’re a teacher get in touch too!
