Manchester Ring Road
By Jim Symcox on Dec 11, 2007 in Manchester Council, The Trafford Centre
I went to a little presentation ceremony today. Which I’ll talk more about when I get the pictures I’ve been promised from it.
The
presentation was in Stockport so, of course, I got onto the M60 noticing that the matrix signs said “Gritting in Progress.” I dropped the children off at their school just off junction 18.
Then I turned around and headed for Stockport (the Ashton Under Lyne way). All the way the matrix signs kept warning me that gritting was in progress.
I bobbed off the motorway for about half an hour and then got back on again and continued round the motorway towards the Trafford centre.
And you’ve caught up with me I can tell…
Yes, those signs were still saying “Gritting in Progress.”
And there were no gritters. None at all. Unless of course they were breaking the speed limits?
Now my question is this.
Can I report the councils for false advertising?

I’m sure you’d have been very happy to be gritting too!
