Manchester United Host Food and Drink Awards
By Jim Symcox on Oct 15, 2007 in Manchester, Manchester United
Manchester United’s most recent addition, Michael Collins, is the VIP Restaurants manager. Last Friday (12th October) I went up to the third floor VIP restaurant, called “The Gallery, to be find a large number of nicely decorated tables.
Manchester United’s ground was where a sumptuous lunch was served to selected Manchester Food & Drink Festival attendees.
After introducing myself to Michael he suggested that I might like to see the food the guests, including Andrew Nutter, had eaten.
The first example Michael brought out was a beautifully presented desert called Valrhona Chocolate Delice with Cinnamon Caramel and Milk
Chocolate Ice-cream.
Then Michael produced a champagne and melon starter. The exquisite looking dish was trio of melon enclosed in a champagne jelly with a cassis sauce.
The Manchester Food & Drink Festival ends tonight with a gala awards ceremony in Manchester Town Hall.

Took me a bit, but I did figure out this was Manchester in the UK, and not the one in CT USA! lol … well, consequently, I have spent some time going over the site and it has intrigued me enough that I want to come and visit …well except for that part about the crime. We have crime here in CT too … too much of it.
Nice site. Keep up the work.

Hi CT,
I’m glad you’re intrigued, Manchester is a place I came to University and stayed on for the same reason!
By the way if you do come over email me, or leave a comment, and I’ll send you a list of some of the great restaurants we have here.
Also I’m intending adding an album feature to the site to show off photos of all things Mancunion.
Happy Christmas
Jim
