I agree with your point about those who work in Manchester but live in outlying areas. How will Manchester&#039;s improved infrastructure (assuming it does improve) benefit them? It would really have been very little problem to issue ballot papers to everyone who works in Manchester and then we would get a balanced view as to what people want. Rather than the propaganda posters that show people saying &quot;they&#039;re alright Jack.&quot;
And yes, I know the posters don&#039;t really mean that - it&#039;s just that&#039;s the way they come across. And not giving Manchester workers a voice through the ballot is another example of poor strategic thinking.

Approx 70% of the residents here work in Manchester but we&#039;re excluded from voting due to how far out we are. The alleged public transport improvements also don&#039;t reach this far. It&#039;s a shame the boundary for voters doesn&#039;t include all the people it affects as it would be a resounding NO! Also, the London congestion charge did not reduce the congestion, it just increased income to the council.
